Vande Mataram

Sujalam Suphalam
richly-watered, richly-fruited
Malayaja sheetalam
cool with the winds of the south,
Shasyashyamalam
dark with the crops of the harvests,
Mataram
The Mother!
Shubhrajyothsna pulakitayaminim
Her nights rejoicing in the glory of the moonlight
Phullakusumita dramadala shobinim
her lands clothed beautifully with her trees in flowering bloom
Suhasinim sumadhura bhashinim
sweet of laughter, sweet of speech
Sukhadam varadam mataram
giver of bliss, giver of boons, the Mother
Vande mataram
I bow to thee, Mother.

I don’t think there is anything to celebrate. Really, people ought to wake up and get sensitize about many of the prevailing issue, without which india will never be free!

There are many issues that are unresolved and some issues are resolved. Lets take each issue one by one and solve them. Just because we have outstanding issues doesnt mean that we shouldnt celebrate the Indian Independence that was got by our Father of our Nation- Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. WIthout him and without the Bombay Royal Naval Mutiny, the britishers would never accede to our independence. I would want to celebrate his great valor and leadership skills at this point of time.
Jai Hind!

hehe…it’s humorous the way you talk about your concept of the Father of “our” nation. Not that I believe in Gandhi to be so either, but this is just totally funny.
Firstly, a nation can’t have “a” father. the Britishers, unless you were part of their decision of leaving India, cannot be termed to have left India by you or by anyone else due to reasons that you seem the ones most apt.
Such big decisions are not taken in this manner.
Secondly, and more importantly, I do not believe in the concept of nations. A nation divides the world…the world that nature has bestowed as a great gift to us.
All human beings ever think of doing is possesing things and dividing them amongst themselves, not having the rationality of enjoying everything and accepting that everything is everyone’s.
I am a citizen of this world. Countries are just the products of irrational humans, and to adhere to such a philosophy is completely ridiculous.
It’s high time we stop this nonsense of jingoism, and actually start working for the betterment of everywhere…the entire world…and stop seeing over these ridiculous and preposterous invisible boundaries of nations.
Just having resolved some issues doesn’t make you free. And hence celebrating such a freedom is nothing else except hypocrisy. It’s like a surgeon celebrating that he has opened up a person’s stomach succesfully, even though the operation is yet to begin.
If you want to “Jai” anything, Jai the world. Just reserving your jayjaykar to India isn’t going to do any good any more.

Haha.. Nice comment… Nice to have such a world of Utopia… Nice to have such a huge space. I would as well love to have a world without boundaries… world that doesnt distinguish others based on Color, region or any other attribute… but its kinda atleast not practical at this moment….
I would still want celebrate the independence day, these men have given their lives so that i can blog here freely as an individual… i am slave no more! I have my grattitude for that!
I say JaiHind for a passion for my country.. I dont expect anything in return to happen for that!
I luv my country, Long live my Nation, Long live to those who gave us this freedom!
Jai Hind!
