OBCs – Any caste that are influential vote banks in India politics and can influence the politicians to include their caste into a list of Priviledged castes.
These priveledged castes (Rather people belonging to these castes) would get benefits to get into good universities with lesser merit than the required merit to get into good universities.
Once they complete their education, these priveledged caste people would get reserved jobs in the Government (which means you can get a government job with lesser merit obatined in the examination.)
Again they would get promotions with lesser merit, as we have reservations in the promotions in government jobs as well!

I am really surprised to see people complaining about reservation, when they themselves were the beneficiaries of reservation for thousands of years. Why the hell only a brahmin can be a priest? I don’t you breing in merit there first?
Secondly, what do you mean by merit? Persons of same social background ask questions about what they and their wards know better and certify that they have merits. Allow me to ask questions I will make you accept that you are not better than any one else!

What is the question you found in your government public exam papers that contains questions know only to a brahmin community. I would like to know the questions that you left and couldnt answer them because it is known only to Brahmin community.

Something that a classmate of mine at Lawschool said yesterday;
the privileged decide who should get reservation. They decide the OBC.
Today we are where we are because of the opportunity we got from our parents. “Equality of Opportunity” in the preamble is the main reason for reservations in the Country.

Not all brahmin families are well to do like yours. Take my father’s case. He has to discountinue his studies in 12th std and was forced to go for work due to poverty. He worked for five years and did is graduation through distance education while he was working.
He sent me to college with huge struggle, he sold all his hard earned money for my education. I used to travel to my college in public transportation. I never had any reservation or any benefits.
At the same time,my college mates who used to come in cars and who used to attend to costly tutions were OBCs and were getting reservation.
My question is how are you going to address this disparity?
Poors are always poor and Rich are always rich.
You now stop even the ones who want to come up in life by denying them education.
Can you answer me as to why a poor brahmin guy should be denied education at the cost of a Rich OBC?
I am NOT against improvement of backward classes; Those who claim to be Backward classes are actually not backward ; They are from well to do family. And still they grab the chances of a poor forward guy who wants to study based only on his merit.
Answer me, why should the grandson of the Chied Minister of Tamil Nadu Mr.Karunanidhi should get reservations?
They are the richest family in the whole of Tamil Nadu, they are the most powerful in the whole state (they are the rulers).
Karunnanithi’s son Stalin is the Mayor of Chennai and is about to take the seat of cheif ministership in future and his son is entitled to get reservation! What an irony is this?

I accept your argument two hundred percent. And currently, I think, the state government is too much interfering with the temples too. Simply because the previous chief minister did great noble divine service to temples the current government seems to be undoing them on the pretext of enhancing.
I really do not know why these guys find a sadistic pleasure in making extreme fun taking caste into thier hands.
Time alone can heal this wound and answer this query.

i m graduate from dr. ambedkar college because of this reservations only, i stay in slum area of mumbai where educations cost is impossible for poor family people , reservations does not give all things but gives oppotunity to do something, i have not crossed 45% ever ,the reason is basic knowledge from school ( Munciple school) without any tutions, In my area only 15 students are qualified outof 43 students 2002 for TYBCOM, i’m the 4th ranker.I m seeking for MBA ,but due to family responsibilities from the age of 21(aft gradu.).
Dalit people need proper guidance, to polish their talent, we have not reached to utilized our reservation, some politician are do for their own purpose only, otherwise today we may not requiered reservations, if we had recd from last 50 yrs.

I agree with you that Dalits need Reservations no doubts about it.
I would always encourage reservations for dalits.

Pro reservationationists ironically favour Muslims who only speak Hindi at home or Nayudus and Reddys who speak only Telugu at home. At the same time they treat Tamil-speaking Brahmins and Chettiars as foreign invaders by excluding them . They also claim to fight for the Tamil cause….by dividing Tamil society!!? PMK, DMK, ADMK etc reject creamy layer, support the cruel 2-tumbler system of Southern Tamil Nadu and now demand extended reservation. PMK leader will go Delhi, Hyderabad and Bombay to promote reservation rather than setting up Tamil learning centers in those places. This shows that Tamil Nadu policitians don’t mind loosing their self respect and prefer to worship their Hindi masters than to work for an integrated Tamil society. Incidently the PMK health minister has made Hindi compulsory for medicine, the the DMK surface transport minister has made Hindi compulsory on national roads even in Tamil Nadu.

Can any one tell what is Open Category and waht is OBC? A person given OBC certificate or his/her caste put under OBC what does this mean?
Do different states have different definition for OBC?
What is an OBC certificate given in Gujarat and Bombay?
Can any one tell me about this?? I really need this info.

REservations is reverse discrimination . Instead government should provide opportunities to all . They should Increase number of seats and remove reference of all castes. Otherwise the castism will never never vanish . It will only increase in the other form . Now about priests in temples . The priests are the ones who are learned about Vedas and scriptures . They are not their beecause of their casts . Who stops any one to learn this ? No one . Those who are learned this subject can only be priests . Can any one become doctor without taking education for 6.5 years ? No. With talking more about reservations we are doing a great injustice to Humanity and will only take the country to doom . Create more and more opportunities for all . And the only criteria which can can discriminate people can be economic backwardnesses . Today generations after generations are getting benefits of reservations , in admissions , jobs everywhere . Is this logical ???????????

Reservation in Tamilnadu is an anti-Tamil movement with the following objectives:
1>Sponsor caste attacks on poor Tamils referred to as Dalits
2>Pin blame on other Tamils belonging to forward caste primarily consisting of castes refered to as Brahmins, Chettiars amoung others
3>Cause disunity among Tamils
