This no one can steal from them. Of course they are ridiculed and denied any of the rights (Like Jobs and Higher Education) These are denied from them only by politicians to get votes from Dalits, Christians and Muslims. Let me tell you. Jews were chased by every one. What is their position now. They are the Intelligent ones in the World. They are able to Cultivate Apple in a Desert. Same way the more you crush Brahmins they will also grow. Many Brahmins are abroad and they are rich and bring laurells to our country. Deny them one they will choose the other and try to make a living.If you deny them higher education in India they will get the same in US and grow well. It is high time that Government stops these reservations and look every one with same view. |

Actually he is right. In Germany, Hitler (Political leaders) came to power by instigating the majority Germans against Jews who were very successful in trade and education (remember Einstein?). Jews (Brahmins) were only a few % (like Brahmins 3%) of the population and they were vilified as having come from “outside” (Aryan invasion theory) and were unjustly cornering the benefits. Theories expounded by Goebbels (Periyar) were used for propaganda. So laws were passed restricting trade ownership (SSI laws), minimum 50% of German (OBC/SC/ST) employees in Jewish (Brahmin) firms, and in appointment of Professors in state funded institutions (IITs/IIMs). In other words, quotas, like in TN for example.
All problems for German majority (OBC/SC/ST), including defeat at British hands were attributed to Jews (Brahmins), and roused the population. To keep the rhetoric high, and the minds of people away from hunger/poverty, the Jew (Brahmin) became the prime symbol to be attacked. Millions of Jews (Brahmins) had to flee to America, Australia, Canada (like Brahmins today) and England. Einstein and other Jews helped create the atom bomb in America. Lessons anyone?

AS PER WEIKIPEDIA BRAHMAN MEANS -A KNOWLEDGABLE PERSON.

Being a brahmin myself by virtue of birth, I don’t find this article at all enlightening. Had our ancestors not subjugated the commoner with lies such as the caste system and other socio political segregations, we wouldn’t have to endure these government policies. It is human nature to point fingers at others but as a responsible Indian and a person who is vehemently against segregation, let me make it clear that I am appalled by this article.
I do not call myself a brahmin because most people who identify themselves as such follow this kind of narrow chest thumping ideologies.

Simple. There is apple fruit, Mango fruit, pineapple fruit,…etc
There is a horse, cow, elephant, snake,…etc
There is carrot, bittergourd, beans,…etc
There is footpath, hut, 1 BHK house, 2 BHK house, mansion, duplex mansion, Palace,…etc

So, Caste too is Naturally GENETICALLY structured form of Creation

Luckily, Bangalore still has a vast section that respects Brahmins, although Kannada Brahmins unfortunately has a HUGE number of ATHEISTS.
With a telescope we see the sky and space with it’s galaxies.
Our Mind is the Telescope. If we dont clear the Lens of the Telescope called the Mind with the Gayatri Mantra, How is it possible to see CLEARLY ?

Every human being is intelligent!! We cannot account only learning mathematics, passing GMAT exams or passing higher studies in good universities as intelligence. As brahmins, education is in our genes. We had the opportunity and support from the society towards education in previous generations. You may see an ordinary farmer who can judge the quality of mud, sense the time only by looking at the sun, a vysya showing extra ordinary intelligence in business (which not many brahmins can do) is also intelligence. I do not believe in the say that Brahmins alone are intelligent.

Govt is doing lot of injustice to Brahmins…rather appropriate to say is to uppercastes. What I feel is govt should give reservations to people who are economically backward irrespective of caste. Govt itself is dividing us into castes and this is y people are fighting among themselves. And govt should improve the standards of schools and education and living standards in villages and try to make everything equally good as in cities. SO that there would not be any need to give reservation for SC and ST and BC and OBC who they believe are in villages without proper standards of education. I dont know why we (ppl in India ) are watching the fun played by the politicians. They are afterall people representatives and we have now become their slaves like we had become under English once upon a time. We should not give them chance to make fun out of our living.
I am a Brahmin and am proud to beand everyone with their own caste. Everyone should follow their own customs and culture without hurting others. everyperson should have a happy living rather fight for caste and improve standards of their living and halp others to improve their. THis is what i learnt after coming to UK recently. So there should be a representative among us (all perople)and raise revolution against unnecessary reservations and give actually economically backward people.

I am listing SOME of the STRATEGIES of the Other Castes and Religions that I have CLOSELY STUDIED and RESEARCHED. It Might Help you all. I Cant List everything here. This forum cannot accomodate. My List is Big
1) Realize the weakness of today’s brahmins for PRAISE and RESPECT. Give that to them, enter the companies for jobs through them, and slowly either drive them out or push them to a corner. Now close the Gate from Inside, and allow everybody except for Brahmins, inside the companies, especially the supervisory, Team Leader and Managerial Positions
2) Realize the weakness of today’s brahmins for IMMEDIATELY giving suggestions and advice. Speak to them in a very very respectful tone, take XEROX Copies of all the spiritual material that they have and slowly start practicing all those rituals and sit in judgement on the ones from whom they have learnt and then LABEL Them in Society as WASTE BRAHMINS and slowly make them put their HEAD down in SHAME and approach these people for SUGGESTIONS / ADVICE. See, how they have turned the tables itself
3) Realize the Basic Genetic Makeup of Brahmins as High Thinking Soft Spoken people, Realize the political scenario today, REALIZE that many BRAHMINS are LOCKED By way of JOB in the COMPANIES for atleast 10 hours everyday, Use this time to GET all INFORMATION about the Brahmin House from their SERVANTS and Others, Slowly in the pretext of respecting highly, enter into a friendship, identify the GIRLS in the House, Show Artificial Affection and Respect to the GIRLS, Encourage their own sons to WOO these GIRLS and then one fine day, suddenly say that it is a LOVE Marriage and with that crash the BRAHMIN FAMILY setup
4) First, sit continuously for atleast 4 hours in the TEMPLE everyday, give artificial respect to the Priest, Spend some money in TEMPLE POOJA and Activities, Become a TRUSTEE of the TEMPLE, then dominate the TEMPLE’s Activities, INTERFERE in the RITUALS and TRADITION ( Please note that there are secret traditions that vary from temple to temple known only to the priests and this is apart from the AAGAMAAS : Vedic Rules for Temple Worship and passed down from father to son ); and then SLOWLY start by changing the PRIEST and bringing in some Priest who has cleared the AAGAMA exams by BRIBING and use him to ALTER the TRADITION at that TEMPLE
Muzrai Department takes care of Temples. This is in the charge of a Deputy Commissioner and the Commisioner. DC takes Bribe and uses a portion of the Temple Real Estate Land to be let out for a shop to a businessman. A percentage of this Bribe goes to the commissioner once in 15 days. Priests at many temples get 1 rupee, Yes, 1 rupee as salary from this government department. Many priests do not get big money from the Devotees contributions. Only in some temples, it is that way. These priests manage the show with 1000 or 2000 rupees per month, in a 1 room house with family size of just husband and wife OR full family. Now the Politicians identify such houses and the young 18 and above aged Brahmin girls are first called during Mahalakshmi Festival or Diwali and slowly acquaintance strengthened till finally an elopement with this Non Brahmin’s Son or Cousin is AIDED by these people. Then, finally get the marriage done in the Police Station so that no body can do anything effective, Brain Wash the Girl on CASTE System with dialogues that blood group is the same and same blood flows,…etc; Then after 3 yrs, get the boy married again in their caste with DOWRY and make this Brahmin Girl like his Mistress/Keep.
It seems they have a SILENT understanding to COMPLETELY remove BRAHMINS from their MAIN Strength : INTELLIGENCE as an act of REVENGE for what some Brahmins did in the past and to DRIVE Brahmin girls into Prostitution. To do this, they are removing all the strength pillars
5) Realizing the weakness of many Brahmins for LOOSE TALK without Sticking to the Point and crux of the matter, the non Brahmins especially in corporate companies ENCOURAGE these Brahmins, especially the fresher girls and 2 yrs experienced Men to VOICE OPENLY their Opinions, Enter into the VISIBILITY Zone and MAKE THEM SIT IN OFFICE FOR LATE HOURS, so that they are NOT left with any time for PERSONAL Development in terms of a COMPLETE LIFE OF WHICH TRADITION IS A MAJOR PORTION.
Then, once the damage is done for 1 or 2 yrs, dump the Brahmin employee saying that he is TOO RIGID / ATTITUDE problem, drive him/her away and bring a cousin or known person in that place. Usually BRIBE is COMPULSORILY Involved
So, these are just some. Agriculturists, Factory workers, Courier companies, Clearing and Forwarding Agents, Hotel Department, Postal Department,…etc; I can list all similar incidents happening there too with the Brahmins, But that would be a huge list.
I cant name the family since I know them Personally very well. One Person is MLA , has identified through WOMAN NGO / Woman Group ( Yes, Believe me or Not, you have prostitutes and pimps in these women groups ); so, this person has identified a helpless Brahmin teacher with 2 children and in the name of social service made her his Mistress.
His sister’s daughter is a high ranking IFS officer ( sorry, I cant name them ) and she has married a Bengali Brahmin who is a high ranking IAS officer
Her Brother is a Doctor who has married a Brahmin Girl and then one more from his community, made this Brahmin girl his mistress
Her Elder Sister is a School Principal who has married a Brahmin Bank Manager.
They have made it a POLICY in their Family to PENETRATE into the BRAHMIN homes this way. They say “ You Brahmin Men are Good Husbands and Brahmin Girls are Soft natured wives “
Saturdays and Sundays, PLEASE do NOT waste time in SLEEPING, FIGHTING AND TV
Visit Temples, Mutts, Carnatic Music and Hindustan Music Sabhaas, Cultural activities ( You can see in the newspaper for the activities usually listed in page 2 or 4 or 5 )
These areas are being targeted by the other people and is usually jam packed with their presence.
Please MAKE your Presence felt there.

Latest Trend in our community is for the BRAHMIN man to marry into other caste, Give the children the Brahmin surname, such as sharma, pandit, deo, shenoy, aithal, rao, iyer, …etc

In the Early years, 100 to 150 years ago, other caste people entered this way into the Brahmin Caste and all of them were accomodated in the Kashyapa Gotra. So, during matrimonial, to be double sure about the alliance if it is kashyapa gotra, enquire atleast upto 3 generations with Native Place and References among Relatives,…etc
For all of your information, there are 2500 gotras all listed in a book by a very famous North Indian Brahmin in Kashi, published in the 1960 or 1970s itself. I need to search that.
In tamilnadu, tanjore there is saraswathi mahal library with all ancient works and books. Other caste people have STOLEN many such books that describe the ACTUAL practices and SECRET Methods followed by Brahmins, Including bringing to life a dead sparrow using a simple glass lens ( There is a soorya mantra associated with this. Sorry, cant be openly discussed )
North India, while matrimonial, be alert. Many North Indian Brahmins have started strange practice of marrying within the same gotra ( So technically speaking brother marries sister )

Konkani Brahmins till recently some 75 yrs ago, were aware of a secretive VEDIC method through which the head and tail of the fish is cut and the middle portion alone is eaten. With that mantra, the head and tail are again joined as in a surgery and let back into the water.
1 or 2 people still exist who know this method. But they are already very Old. One is 90 yrs old and the other is close to 80. I dont know, maybe there are somebody in Kashi and Prayag, it is possible.

Family suffers because of this. And what is the awareness level of the brahmin ? almost zero. agriculture, no idea, multi lingual skills, no knowledge, physical exercise, no practice, mentally taxing the brain with lot of good thoughts and ideas and innovation, no interest, 64 arts, no knowledge of their existence at all
Overall Life Pattern is one of Indiscipline. OBVIOUSLY IT IS EASY FOR THE ENEMY TO STRIKE, BREAK THE WALLS OF THE FORT AND CAUSE DAMAGE.

It is wonderful to see the active discussion taking place here on this topic. A Telugu Brahmin myself, it surprises me how much difference there is in the thought process of Brahmins vis a vis non-Brahmins. I do not know about our genetic linkage with the West Europeans, but if the two World Wars are anything to go by, I believe the linkage would be nothing to be proud of. I once came across a Swiss lady who, when came to be told of our origin, said we were lucky to be from India, because the European blood is too bloodthirsty. Thankfully, Brahmins are anything but.
I don’t believe the situation is one of despair, for fortunately, several of us have done well in life. What one of the gentlemen suggested here, of creating Vedic schools and supporting our community is something I support. But let me carry this suggestion a little further. Each one of you would be having relations who have not made it. I recommend that you financially support these relations, unconditionally – irrespective of family politics. At least then, you are sure where your money is going, you are spending on someone who needs it and you are supporting a cause dear to you. Start this at home, and gradually you can bring support at the subcaste level, and then of course, sky is the limit. You can always go on to support someone not from your state as well.
Secondly, if possible, impart the Vedic knowledge to the non-brahmins you know. We have to understand that our duties and responsibilities in our religion are defined at the caste level. So a Kshatriya or a Shudra already has his set of responsibilities and duties which he imparts to his offspring. But if knowledge of the Vedas makes them feel good about themselves, then impart it to them. Encourage them to learn. I tried this with my maid. She had tremendous difficulty twisting her tongue to read the Sahasranamam, and ultimately succumbed to Christianity – whose Telugu version of the Bible was something she could read more easily. But I am sure if I had caught her young, she would never have converted.
This imparting of knowledge has to be the responsibility of the Brahmins towards the non-Brahmins, but for that the Brahmins themselves have to be in touch.
Finally, the West has successfully denounced our religion as casteist, and they have managed to convince non-Brahmins that we are responsible for keeping them out of the community. Practical understanding shows that this argument is a hoax and as Brahmins it is best we don’t get apologetic about our role in society.
As someone was mentioning over here that we have committed atrocities – this is in general a lie, a lie very well marketed but a lie nevertheless. You have to understand Hinduism from a Hindu perspective to grasp the implications. Let me highlight some core differences between Hinduism and other religions, mainly Christianity and Islam:
a) The Hindu priest does not preach to the rest of the community on what they should and should not do in their daily life. The Hindu priest is not a moral equivalent of a Christian Father or the Muslim Mullah.
b) The Hindu priest is bound by a code of conduct that is incredibly strict and requires a commitment and great tenacity. His duty mainly is to learn the scriptures, conduct ceremonies, and to guard places of worship. He does not get involved in guiding the community on what they need and need not do.
c) A temple is not a place of gathering for Hindus to get advice from their priests about the right and wrong of things. The daily conduct, duties and responsibilities are hand me downs through the caste system. The Kshyatriya imparts kshyatriya customs, the Vaishyas their customs etc. The priest gets involved in conducting their ceremonies and may be an advisor for auspicious dates, etc. but does not define their customs and practices.
d) Hindu scriptures are thousands in number. We do not have one Bible or Kuran that can be read. The scriptures require oral training for a number of years at that. How will society function if all its members spend time reading the scriptures? Hence society was functionally classified, so that a portion of them are devoted to maintaining the scriptures, another for defense, another for agriculture, trade and another for manual labour. Even though dynastic transfusion of such responsibilities may not have been intended, it is not surprising that society found it convenient to establish dynastic ownership of each responsibility. Practically it works and vested interests would have crept in. A king wanting his son to be the king, a businessman wanting his sons to take over his business……this may not be an ideal, but practically speaking it is not a SIN either. A brahmin reciting the vedas at home would easily find a quick learner in his child, and this would make things easier for the child to qualify. Let us not read too much into this situation to the extent that we call it atrocities. This is not excluding the non-Brahmins from reading the Vedas and keeping them out of the community. And this atrocity pales in comparison to the White Man’s destruction of continents like Africa and Asia and the damage he has done to their natives – and that too in the name of Christianity.
e) In Hinduism, knowledge is disassociated with money. Hence the Brahmin may acquire knowledge, but money is not guaranteed. In fact the scriptures decree that he is not to covet wealth. Many Brahmins who became wealthy did so because they were patronised by Kings who recognised their abilities otherwise. But there are also many Brahmins who rejected such wealth. It is probably for this reason that even today, the Brahmins who are wealthy do not really feel comfortable with flaunting their wealth. The Brahmins still believe knowledge is a more powerful force. But if your experience in this is different, you will have to excuse me. I am speaking about this from my experience. I am proud to say that till today I have been fortunate to move around in brahmin circles both at work and in private society, and I still find this down to earth respect for knowledge intact in those I have met. Between wealth and knowledge (of any kind), knowledge rules. But Christians and the White Man had us believe that by usurping knowledge, we usurped the best positions in society. It cannot be in the Hindu society. The Brahmin cannot become a king, and the king’s place is intact. They also know that they cannot become great businessmen the way Marwaris and the trading castes can. They usually stay out of business. As for administrative and managerial positions, this is their strength and the role demanded of them in the modern society, and if they are doing it, it does not mean they have usurped such positions. I doubt a Kapu or Kamma caste person will think of a Brahmin as the first person to employ as his partner while considering new ventures. The Brahmins have in general a poor track record in this area and know it themselves.
e) Next, Hinduism neither talks of a heaven and hell, nor does it stipulate a single road to nirvana. The Western generated theory that a man goes through the stages of shudra, vaishya, kshatriya and Brahmin before attaining God has to be ridiculous. From what I understand, the paths to God is through Yoga, and this can be through Karma, Bhakti, through Vedas etc. And in the Gita the Karma yoga is extolled as the highest. Which means every individual in the Hindu caste system can carve his moksha path through his karma. It is for God to decide at what stage moksha can be granted. He partly fulfils his desires by propitiating the Gods who help him in this process. And it is for him to decide which God/Goddess meets the requirements. If anyone can tell me which scripture says that an individual must be born a Shudra first, then next etc., I will be happy to know.
f) In Hinduism, you don’t burn in hell forever. You keep coming back for improvement till you reach the level of communion with God. The cycle continues in eternity, because the Universe neither has a beginning nor an end. So everyone has to pay the price – irrespective of the Supreme Court and reservations. There cannot be a fairer method for evaluating a soul.
g) If Brahmins are indeed the perpetrators of atrocities, we would not have the lyrics such as sung by Annamacharya in Brahmam Okkate, or the likes of Ramanajucharyas etc. The Brahmin conscience is very much alive. But one has to appreciate that the Brahmin code of conduct is extremely strict – and those here who have lived with their orthodox grandmas will vouch for this strict code of conduct. It really does not permit the observers of the code of conduct to focus on the people around them, such is their immersion in daily rituals. Their resulting aloofness can be interpreted to be snootiness, but in most cases it is just people who are trying as hard as possible to be true to what they believe is the right path. If my grandma does not want a servant maid in her kitchen, I with my new style modular kitchen may find it offensive, but I am not sure I am really right in saying that she should therefore change her ways because I think she is not right. She is guided by her code of conduct, and animosity towards the maid may not be what is motivating her.
So much has been misinterpreted about Hinduism, that it feels sad to have to constantly justify it. But I do believe this apologetic stance towards the caste system must stop. There is nothing to apologise. If discrimination is the basis on which the caste system is being criticised, the fact that Islam has Shias, Sunnis, women, Sufis, Waahabis, Bahai’s etc. and Christianity is even worse with Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, Methodist, Syrian Orthodox, Jacobite, Roman Catholic, Protestant and what have you.. this is enough to prove that you can’t get discrimination out of the human psychological system. Even a mother sometimes discriminates between her own offspring. Whichever religion she might be from.

I am a little disturbed by the postings here of Mr. Nataraja Iyer. He sounds knowledgeable, but also portrays a fearsome picture of brahminism – something I find difficult to identify with.
I would like to ask you Mr. Iyer some queries that have come to my mind.
Society keeps changing. It can never remain stagnant. In such a case, isn’t inter community marriage almost inevitable? How long can we pretend this won’t happen at any cost, even by building great fortresses within?
I was told by a Bengali that during the partition and the famine, many Bengalis changed their names to Brahmin names. Which is why you see so many Chatterjees, Bannerjees, Mukherjees there. Who is to identify which one of them is a true Brahmin. And can we fortify ourselves against such calamities and forces of change?
Likewise I understand, people from other castes adopted Brahminism to form the Iyengar community. So who will check for their authenticity. And in any case, is it relevant to do so?
The fortress that you mention is relevant for a practising brahmin family. In this world where many brahmins are outside the priestly services, how dangerous is the situation of not building fortresses?
Brahminism transmitted genetically, apparently by some gene mentioned herein, is purported to be the purest form. But our scriptures talk about the state of Brahman which is the highest state. Did not Buddha attain that state? Was he not a non-Brahmin? How about Mahaveera?
Lastly, you have mentioned about the pratiloma marriage. The children get the genes of the Lower division. I was thinking of Indira Gandhi. But Rajiv Gandhi turned out to be a fine person, albeit not very intelligent in the Brahmin sense of the word. Do the scriptures consider this wrong? Why? And what is the going forward action for the woman in this case?
How do you explain the birth of below average and handicapped children in brahmin marriages?
I find your version of Brahminism quite frightening. It is one thing to say that Brahmins should do Sandhyavandana while I would say that Sandhya vandana and Gayatri mantra should be taught to all and in a manner that allows it to be chanted correctly. But if you say only individuals with a certain gene must chant this and fortify their community, that really sounds like you are saying that Brahminism is a separate religion by itself and not a part of Hinduism.
I am not sure where you got your information on Brahmin girls being driven to prostitution in Andhra. I have many poor brahmin relations but none who have been forced into this – God forbid. Nor is there any talk of such things happening in Brahmin conversations. On the contrary, the community at the local level still commands respect, irrespective of the fact that they are not well off. Yes, there are people in powerful positions from other castes who have harrassed brahmins either to get their property illegally or because they found them easy targets to use as scapegoats in scandalous matters. But since a Brahmin rarely ever gets into court battles or gets into a ‘fight unto death’ mode, the incidents pass by and are gradually forgotten. It is here that we as a Brahmin community would need to help each other, but this won’t happen unless we are able to create a trustworthy outfit to take care of such matters.

First of all, at this current scenario and situation in India there is no point in talking about brahmins or non brahmins from the perspective of caste. Let us concentrate on the fact that we are first Human Beings and distinguish ourselves from other species. Lets take things in positive ways. The actual thing here is brahmin is a quality in our Hindhu religion which has highest degree of perfection. The quality can be adopted by anyone who wants to achieve the perfection. By nature as per lord if you are brahmin you should see every soul as a single and give respect to every species in the world. There are few things which we need to concentrate as our world has become so materialistic that no one understand about being a brahmin. I have thought about this in various angles and find that its merely impossible to become a brahmin. In the present world let us think about two relegions vegetarian and non vegetarians. Non veg people simply give excuses that fruits and vegitable have life and all other stuffs to have meat. This i totally dont agree as we are thinking that we are at the highest level in the food chain. But did any one realize that humans can survive healthly being veggie. But as per the laws every one has to act accord to his karma which is unavoidable. How we come out of it is important.

Our country India is blessed with so much knowlegde which we never want to explore. Do all of us attempt to read our Holy Book Bagavad Geetha which gives good knowledge and is of its own kind. It should be kept as a manual in every hindu house. Why are we having manuals for our electronic items and other materials? because we dont know how to use it??? did we think that having brought to this world we should follow rules and how to do it is presented in our holy vedas which are uncomparable…its a manual for us and how wee should lead our life. concentrate on these things and we can become pure by ourselves. Knowledge doesn’t have any bounderies…let us have a new vision and be proud that we atleast are provided with all spiritual books. Again its thier karma if they dont want to…

All I can say is one thing, Brahmins are the Top Guns in the world. Not everyone is smart, You can see a brahmin less smarter than caste 1, more smarter than caste 2 and so on. but the fact is there are some supermen, you will see them once in a while. All I can say to my non brahmin folks is, accept the fact that some Brahmins (let me be practical, not all of them) are superior to every one else in ov erall qualities. Respect them, be nice and you’ll see the super qualities in them. How many more examples do you need? Adi sankara, Great maratha rulers. I don’t think jews are comparable to brahmins. Jews stand no chance. I am proud that Hitler petted us – despite the fact that he is a sinner. He just liked our qualities.

All comments are accepted. Brahmins are brands and no one can steal our knowledge which is our inborn quality and gifted by god. As the epic and the Granthas has segregated Brahmins on the top (Brahmin, Kshathriya, Vysya and Sudra). J
Important: Just by passing comments mentioning Brahmins are great whether it is through mail or through letters, it really does not help our poor Brahmins people who do not seem to our eyes, who stay away from all of us and who are really looking for our supporting hand should really get the benefit out of it. If you have anything of supporting initiatives interact with the Brahmin Youth Association of India. There may be branches in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin, Bombay, Delhi, and Kolkata. As per my knowledge the Brahmin Youth Association in Karnataka are emerging with bigger initiatives of providing free education to the people who really study (specifically for Brahmins). Hope you understand my point of view what I am willing to tell. If you are really willing to support the Brahmin people who really like to come up.

Sir, This is my assessment about the Brahmin of Tamil Nadu. (1) Unlike other people, the Brahmin people lack the ‘technical’ skill to understand the power-centres in an Organisation and utilise opportunities presented to them to their advantage. They may be intelligent and obedient, which may be different. (2) False Prestige; (3) Loose talk about other communities and thus creating enmity and polarisation at the other end against him thus creating hurdles unnecessarily. It is better to keep quiet keeping the eyes and ears open; (4) Not helping their own community and their development but uselessly donating to Temples thinking Brahmins are the main pillars of Hinduism and its temples, most of which(temple) are governed by Government and his money in turn goes to government treasury which does not give single nayapaisa to him or to his community as scholarship or loan; (5) They think others should come to their help – seeing their condition – without any asking – Example is in Office he/she would be doing a donkey’s job alone – for two or three years in a Desk -without making publicity or quantification of the job being done by him. After he leaves the Desk for another placement, the present incumbent would be assisted immediately by three more people to do the same job, because the new fellow would make good publicity and magnification of the workload handled by him. (6) Not demanding or claiming and fighting to get his due share – Eg. Even if he does not get a packet of sweet which is distributed to all and sundry in Office out of collected fund, he would not ask his share if he is not getting his packet. He would not ask what happened to the collected money. Dharma Prabhu. (7) Giving undue weightage to vegetarianism as a virtue – though it is a problem to him and for others during tours and travels; (8) Failing to be cautious and identify dark-spots of the people with whom he is moving with daily. (9) Believing others easily and losing in the end; (10) Lacking Property-Sense – (Eg) Giving unnecessary handloans, etc. and losing such money even without asking back; (11)Lacking Tenacity to fight for his due share competing with others. (12)Undue respect and belief to the words of others without cross-checking or bargain (13)Not knowing how to tell a CONVINCING HARMLESS LIE to solve a situation without damaging relationships – lacking presence of mind in such situations; (14)Some sort of disinclination towards physical fitness, body building exercises/vocations, Silambam, etc. thinking that those things are NOT FOR HIM Or simply agreeing with others if some say “Why you Brahmin do all these things?” (Only during Veda period, etc they may have been prohibited ((note the word PROHIBITED) to learn other arts such as Silambam, Gusthi, climbing a tree, carpentry, smithy, etc. – THE BRAHMIN WAS PERMITTED ONLY FOR VEDA READING AND CHANTING MANTRAS AND PUJAS)). Now if interested, he can try any lawful art. But still the old fear lingers what others would think or say?. That fear should be eliminated first because already everything has been lost and nothing is there to lose and whatever was earlier prohibited for them they can and should learn now if interested to them and commercially viable. (15)They have less respect for money and emotionally hijackable. (say ten big words about his good qualities and his community and its current downtime, he will give handloan if he has anything in his packet which you can see this in most offices). (16)Wasting money on food and cloth unnecessarily; (17)Not consulting and listening to others in a given situation forgetting that there may be many ways to solve a problem situation and some may be easier. (18)Unnecessary fear on health hazards, diseases, etc. and less tolerance to survive unhygienic conditions even for a temporary period; (19)Not knowing When to open the mouth, how much to talk and when to keep quiet. (20)Meddling in the affairs of others by doing things freely, whereas the other fellow may be making sizeable money out of it. THESE ARE ONLY A SMALL LIST OF THINGS THAT CAME TO MY MIND. It was quite interesting to read the thoughts expressed by various people who were I presume to be Brahmins.
It cannot be denied Brahmins had better support systems within the community in terms of better education and focus. This certainly would have given them a better edge over others. Good things ought to be learnt from many others irrespective of caste /clan / community.
In this age of modern world, in my view a NEW ORDER is emanating which will be cutting across Caste, Creed, Community and Language Barriers. Where the following alone will be recognised 1. EDUCATION 2. CULTURE 3. GOOD EMPLOYMENT 4. GOOD FAMILY BACKGROUND (not caste / community) 5. A GOOD HOUSE and so on.
For the above WORLD OF NEW ORDER, there will not linkages bonding on the basis of CASTE / COMMUNITY / VARNAS / BRAHMINS etc. BUT SOLELY ON CAPABILITIES.
I am a NON BRAHMIN incidentally belonging to LINGAYAT (VEERA SAIVA) by Caste.
THEREFORE REQUEST SO CALLED BRAHMINS & OTHER CASTES not to be swayed by the PAST HISTORY / GLORY and do the needful that would be necessary to get 1. GOOD SUPERIOR EDUCATION 2. CULTURE 3. GOOD EMPLOYMENT 4. GOOD FAMILY 5. GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE 6.. GREAT (FUTURE) PLANS FOR SELF/CHILDREN ETC
LET ME CONCLUDE IF WE GET THE ABOVE WE WILL BE NOT ONLY COMFORTABLE , WE CAN BE HAPPY AND KEEP SUCH LIKE MINDED PEOPLE IN OUR COMPANY /SOCIALISE AND ENJOY WHAT A SANE NORMAL WOULD ENJOY.
ALSO LET WE CUT ACROSS ALL NARROW BARRIERS AND EMPOWER OURSELVES AND LEAD A QUALITY LIFE. THIS WILL BE FOLLOWED BY OTHERS AND WOULD JOIN THIS COMPANY AND THE FIGURES WILL GROW FOR A A GREAT CULTURAL SOCIETY.

can anyone tell what has caste done for us, learn to see everyone equal, learn to see god in all, all of them are humans, being a brahmin or non brahmin doesnt matter, every human knows what is wrong and right, god doesnt love us by our caste, he loves us by our deeds, deeds is what that matters, virtues is what that matters, wish if people didnt distinguish between each each other regarding caste n creed, india would have been the greatest, wish everyone just saw one god , wish people would see the deeds n respect oe disrespect, i saw some people reffering us brahmins n us non brahmins, please refer as us humans , or brothers or sisters, it has more values than distinguishing, wish this stupid caste thing would have been erased, n humans wud have loved each other without any dicrimination or partiality….. i come from a reputed family n royality but never used ot for discrimination….. lets respect each other , lets love each other n lets together fight for the good of humans but not for caste…

I am indian-born brahmin who is now the US citizen. I believe that brahmins should ditch India. This can be done by having 1 kid for next three generations. The brahmin population then would be small enough to migrate from India. Stop chanting secret mantras at Tirupati and other jyotirlingas. As brahmins move away from India, take the divine powers to foreign lands. The reason that I am saying is because India will cease to exist as a country in next fifty years. That country is breeding hunger, poverty, pollution, corruption, & decadence.

I agree with Anonymous. I am a Telugu Brahmin. Our situation is not as worse as our Tamil brothers, but we are none too happy for the last 45 years. We, Telugu Brahmins find ourselves defenceless against the constant attacks from Telugu atheists, communists and Christian missionaries and Maala & Maadhiga activists. Even our Telugu Swamijis are not being spared. Governemet is not coming to our rescue. Telugu media is blacking out the news of attacks on Brahmins, because it is all being controlled by non-Brahmins tycoons who silently hate Brahmins.
Truly, we, our women and our children have no protection in this Shoodra country. More than ourselves, I fear for our future generations of Brahmins if situation continues like this or gets even worse.
Just like the Jews, we Brahmins should move away from India which is completely spoilt with anti-Brahmin ideologies, to a new land where where we Brahmins alone constitute a majority. Then we can peacefully practise our religion, revive our forefathers’ original mother tongue Sanskrit, preserve Vedic tradition and save our Brahmin blood and generations. It’ s no more possible to identify ourselves with these anti-Hindu, anti-Brahmin governments in Inda and their silly constitutions and laws.
For doing this-
1. First of let’s give up our lingustic identies. Stop calling yourself a Telugu Brahmin or Tamil Brahmin or Kannada Brahmin etc.. These lingustic tags are just Shoodratvam but not Brahmanatvam. Brahmins originally didn’t belong to these regional languages. We got assmilated into these local identities over a long time. Time has come to shed them. Our original language is Sanskrit. Let’s learn and speak it along with English.
2. Let’s give up our sectarian identies We are no more Iyers or Iyengars, no more Vaidikis or Niyogis, no more Madhvas or Saivas. WE ARE BRAHMINS, JUST BRAHMINS, NOTHING BUT BRAHMINS AND BRAHMINS AND BRAHMINS ONLY, PERIOD.
3. We should at first decide on the location and expanse of land we are going to occupy. Even if it is not very vast, It should be fertile enough to sustain at least 2 to 3 Crores of Brahmin population. That is, I am speaking about our future needs, in case more and more Brahmins came from India to join us. All of us should decide on one piece of land only, because the more we flock together at one single place the more we get powerful locally.
4. Let’s see to it that this proposal on our Historic Brahmin Mass Exodus reaches every Brahmin within a few years. Involve every Brahmin in this secret project and exhort every Brahmin woman and man to realise this goal within their lifetime only.
If we start now, it will be a reality like Israel within the next 50 to 70 years. So, let’s strive to keep up this spirit and work hard, pool up all our resources and use our right contacts for the future of our Brahmin children.
